What a real estate agent's website must show in Louisiana
Louisiana's Real Estate Commission rules are detailed. In all advertising, a salesperson or associate broker must include the sponsoring broker's name and telephone number, conspicuous and easy for the public to identify. On a website, each page with your advertising or information must show your name, the broker's name or registered trade name, the city and state of the broker's main or branch office, and the jurisdictions where the broker is licensed; emails must carry the same on their first or last page.

Does a website count as advertising in Louisiana?
Yes. The Commission has a specific rule for advertising on internet sites and in email, discussion groups and bulletin boards. Shared MLS, IDX and VOW property data between brokers is not itself advertising. LAC 46:LXVII §2515LAC 46:LXVII §2501
“A real estate broker advertising or marketing on a site on the Internet must include the following data on each page of the site on which the advertisement appears”
What every advertisement must show
For a salesperson or associate broker: the sponsoring broker's name and telephone number, in all advertising, conspicuous, discernible and easily identifiable by the public. LAC 46:LXVII §2501
“In all advertising, the salesperson or associate broker must include the name and telephone number of the sponsoring broker. The broker's name and telephone number must be conspicuous, discernible and easily identifiable by the public.”
Your business name: the name on record with the Commission (or a trade name registered with the Secretary of State and on record with the Commission). All advertising is under the broker's direct supervision and approval. LAC 46:LXVII §2501
If the brokerage belongs to a franchise, a disclosure in all advertising that the firm is independently owned and operated. LAC 46:LXVII §2509
Websites specifically
On each page of a website where your advertisement or information appears (salesperson or associate broker): your name; the name or trade name of the broker on your license; the city and state of the broker's main or branch office; and the regulatory jurisdiction(s) where the broker holds a brokerage license. LAC 46:LXVII §2515
Brokers advertising on their own sites show the broker's name or registered trade name, the office city and state, and the licensing jurisdiction(s) on each such page. LAC 46:LXVII §2515
Email, discussion groups and bulletin boards used for advertising or marketing must carry the same data on the first or last page of every communication. LAC 46:LXVII §2515
“must include the following data on the first or last page of all communications”
Team names
A team or group name may be used in advertising only with the sponsoring broker's written approval, and only if the team has more than one licensee, the name isn't an unlawful trade name or deceptively similar to another business's name, and the ad meets the other advertising rules. LAC 46:LXVII §1909LAC 46:LXVII §2501
Team or group names may not contain terms suggesting brokerage services independent of the sponsoring broker, including "real estate", "brokerage" or "real estate brokerage", "realty" and "company". LAC 46:LXVII §1905
Everyone listed as a team member must be a licensee sponsored by the same broker; an unlicensed person may not be named or referred to in team advertising. LAC 46:LXVII §2501LAC 46:LXVII §1909
What gets agents in trouble
Advertising someone else's property, or putting a sign on it, without written authorization from all owners (or their authorised attorney in fact). LAC 46:LXVII §2503
Misleading or inaccurate advertising about any property, terms, value, policies or services, and using the name of a franchiser or real estate organization you don't belong to. LAC 46:LXVII §2505
A personal logo or slogan that could be taken for a company name; with the broker's permission an agent may use a personal logo, but it must include the sponsoring broker's name and telephone number. LAC 46:LXVII §2501
Worth knowing
If you sell, rent or buy property you have an interest in, ads and signs must say you are a licensed real estate agent; the words "licensed real estate agent" are enough. LAC 46:LXVII §2511
The rules do not require a license number. They require names, the broker's telephone number (for agents) and, online, the office location and licensing jurisdiction. LAC 46:LXVII §2501LAC 46:LXVII §2515
Every SiteCurb site has a broker-disclosure footer on every page, listings included: your name, your brokerage and your license number, plus a disclosure field for the text and links your state requires (Texas agents get a one-click helper for the two TREC links). Fill it in once and it is on every page.
How many agents this applies to
2,827 real estate agents were working in Louisiana when we last counted, across 28 brokerage offices. That is agents with a live profile on a brokerage's own site, not everyone holding a licence, so it is the population these rules actually bind day to day. The Louisiana brokerage directory breaks it down office by office. Counted 2026-10-07.

Questions people ask
What has to be on my website in Louisiana?
On every page that shows your advertising or information: your name, your broker's name or registered trade name, the city and state of the broker's main or branch office, and the state(s) where the broker is licensed, plus the broker's telephone number, conspicuous. On SiteCurb the broker-disclosure footer puts your brokerage on every page; add the office city and state, "Licensed in Louisiana" and the broker's phone number in the disclosure field.
Do my emails need anything?
Yes. Marketing emails need the same data (your name, the broker's name, the office city and state and the licensing jurisdiction) on the first or last page; an email signature can carry it.
Can my team be "Smith Realty Group"?
No. Team names can't contain "realty", "real estate", "brokerage" or "company", and the name needs your sponsoring broker's written approval.
